We collect personal information directly from you when you complete a form, subscribe, book, or contact us, and automatically through our web server and cookies when you use the site.
To respond to your enquiries; to send you The Read where you have subscribed and consented; to provide, schedule and deliver the paid session and, where relevant, the programme; to process payments; to operate, secure and improve the site; and to meet our legal obligations. We only use your information for the purposes for which it was collected, related purposes you would reasonably expect, or as permitted or required by law.
We send The Read only to people who have subscribed. We use a confirmed opt-in (double opt-in) where possible. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email, or by contacting us. An enquiry or a booking is not treated as consent to marketing.
We disclose personal information to service providers who help us run the site and the business, under confidentiality and data-handling obligations. These include our hosting provider, VentraIP, which hosts the site; our email provider, EmailOctopus, which delivers The Read; Google, which serves the site's fonts; and, where a session is paid for, a third-party payment provider that processes the payment. We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information where required or authorised by law.
Some of our service providers store or process information on servers located outside Australia. In particular, our email provider (EmailOctopus) and Google (which serves the site's fonts) may process information overseas, including in the United Kingdom and the United States, as may any payment provider we use. Where we disclose personal information overseas, we take reasonable steps under APP 8 to ensure it is handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
Our site is a set of static pages on our own hosting. It does not use analytics or advertising cookies, it does not profile you, and it does not track you across other sites. We do not run third-party analytics.
The site loads its fonts from Google Fonts. When a page opens, your browser requests those fonts from Google, and Google receives your device's IP address in order to serve them. That is used only to deliver the fonts. If you would rather not make that request, most browsers and privacy tools can block third-party content.
The site itself sets no functional, analytics or advertising cookies. Any cookie that is set is strictly necessary for the site to work. You can control or block cookies through your browser settings, though blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site working.
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access. We retain personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law. Client and financial records are retained for at least seven years. Newsletter data is retained until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove it.
You may ask for access to, or correction of, the personal information we hold about you by contacting enquiries@onlytradeoffs.net. If you have a privacy complaint, contact us first and we will respond. If you are not satisfied, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
The site and our services are directed at adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version and its date appear at the top of this page.
